FAQ

I forgot my master password. Can you reset it?

No. mypass is designed so that only you can decrypt your vault. Your master password never leaves your device and is not stored anywhere. If you forget it, your vault data cannot be recovered. This is by design — it means no one else can access your data either.

Where is my data stored?

Your encrypted vault is stored with a cloud storage provider that you set up and control. A cached copy is also stored locally on your device. The developer has no access to either location.

Is mypass open source?

mypass is a personal project. The source code is not currently public.

What platforms are supported?

Android, Linux, Windows, macOS, and iOS. The app is built with Flutter and runs natively on all platforms.

Does mypass work offline?

Yes. mypass caches a copy of your encrypted vault locally. You can view and edit entries offline. Changes are synced when connectivity is restored.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

All local data is removed from your device. Your encrypted vault in cloud storage is unaffected — you can reinstall mypass and sync to restore access (you will need your master password and storage credentials).

How do I delete my data?

Uninstall the app to remove local data. To remove remote data, delete the vault from your cloud storage provider.
